Lindsay And Sam Do Miami

Saturday, December 13, 2008 ·

Following an eventful week, in which Lindsay Lohan’s female beau Samantha Ronson took her lawsuit against celeb blogger Perez Hilton to new heights, everybody’s favorite same-sex couple arrived safely at Florida’s Miami International Airport today, for some much needed R&R.

This week it was announced 31 year-old Ronson filed a malpractice suit against Martin Garbus, the 71 year-old veteran civil rights attorney whose previous work includes defending comedian Lenny Bruce in his landmark 1st amendment trial. Garbus’s other clients over the years have included Daniel Ellsberg, the military analyst targeted by president Richard Nixon for leaking the “Pentagon Papers,” as well as author Salman Rushdie, who in 1988 was targeted for death by Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini for writing “The Satanic Verses.”

Garbus, who was also involved in drafting the Czech Republic's Constitution, is being accused by Ronson of mishandling a defamation suit she brought against Hilton after the blogger suggested she had provided the cocaine found on Lindsay during her DUI/possession arrest last year.

The civil trial – which involved lawsuits, counter lawsuits, and counter-counter lawsuits – is scheduled for summer, and is expected to extend the news cycle for Lindsay’s May 26th, 2007 arrest well into late 2009.

In the meantime, however, Sam and Lins are set to appear together New Year’s Eve at Miami nightclub Mansion, for a jungle-themed party sponsored by SoBe Lifewater. According to a SoBe press release, the event will feature “vines, plush jungle greenery and florals, flying lizard aerialists and body painted lizard dancer exhibits.”

Perez Hilton is not invited.
