Police issue arrest warrant for Lindsay Lohan

Sunday, March 15, 2009 ·

Police in the US have issued an arrest warrant for singer-actress Lindsay Lohan.

Beverly Hills Police appealed to Lohan to "surrender" as the 22-year-old was wanted for allegedly failing to comply with the court orders relating to drink-driving charges Saturday night, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The actress was arrested in Beverly Hills in May 2007 after crashing her Mercedes into a tree.

After spending 84 minutes in jail, Lohan was freed on a bail of 36,000 pounds and placed on probation for three years. She was ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol education programme.

The police refused to go into details, but said: "The warrant stems from the May 2007 arrest of Lohan for DUI (driving under influence) and hit-and-run."
